What is the difference between DDL, DML, and TCL in SQL?

Answer

DDL (Data Definition Language) defines and modifies database structure: CREATE, ALTER, DROP, TRUNCATE. DML (Data Manipulation Language) manipulates data rows: SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE. TCL (Transaction Control Language) manages transactions: COMMIT, ROLLBACK, SAVEPOINT.
